At Valley Grande Baptist Church, our philosophy of ministry centers around two divine imperatives given by Jesus Christ in the Bible: The Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
The Great Commandment
In Matthew 22: 37–39, Jesus said that the Greatest Commandment was to love God completely and to love your neighbor as yourself. Since none of us are able to love God completely and to love our neighbors as ourselves, the only way to fulfill the Great Commandment is to experience God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Only when we trust Jesus as Lord and Savior can we be transformed by God’s grace and begin to learn how to live out the Great Commandment.
How Do You Accept Jesus Christ as Savior?
- Admit you are a sinner. The Bible is clear in Romans 3:23 – “ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Furthermore, the Bible tells us that the penalty for sin is death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” In short, the sin that is in all of us will not allow us into heaven, but God’s promise is forgiveness and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
- Believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior. Romans 10:9 says, “…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. you will be saved.”
- Commit you life to Christ. You cannot trust in your own sense of goodness for eternal life. It is not about being good, or Baptist, or being raised in a good family. It is about trusting Christ, His death on the cross, and His resurrection from the dead. Our commitment is to live for Christ, according to the teaching of the Bible.
Joining Valley Grande Baptist Church
God intends that none should perish, but that all should have eternal life. We believe that everyone who names Jesus Christ as Savior should join a local, Bible-believing fellowship. As soon as one connects to the Savior in salvation, he or she should connect to the local church. We would love to have you as a member of Valley Grande Baptist Church.
